MWEE

The Meaningful Watershed Educational Experience (MWEE) is the primary focus for this grant and   Environmental educators from the Friends of the Rappahannock will be providing all participants an Introduction to Watersheds and MWEE's workshop on site at the Crow's Nest Research Center.
According to the Chesapeake Bay Program, MWEEs are "learner-centered experiences that focus on investigations into local environmental issues that lead to informed action and civic engagement."  Clicking on the link will take you to a four-page introduction to MWEE's.  The Virginia Department of Education strongly recommends that all students participate in at least one MWEE during Elementary, Middle, and High School.
An excellent collection of MWEE resource guides for educators may be found at the Bay Backpack site. This site provides free, downloadable-as-PDF, MWEE Guides and Toolboxes, example MWEE's, as well as links to an intensive MWEE101 online course.

The Friends of the Rappahannock provide an excellent resource for MWEEs.  You can find it here.
