SUMMER WORKSHOP - Session 2

We had our second Summer Workshop session this Saturday, June 19.  Three teachers, Karynn Henry Alexander, Diamond Hudson, and Cristina Mitchell (all from Fredericksburg City Schools) attended along with a few family members.  Sophie Lynn, Lisa Lewis, and George Meadows were there as well.
During the workshop teachers were able to work with the digital and stereo microscopes and the phone adapter for the stereo scope.  Folks also practiced nature journaling and some associated techniques such as tree bark rubbings and leaf collecting.  We also had set up a drawing table and Lisa Lewis provided a number of nature journaling related activities such as viewing augmented reality insects and using instant cameras.
We also visited the pond and examined water samples using magnifiers and a waterproof endoscope camera.  The mole kingsnake seen in our last workshop put in an appearance as well.  A number of student journaling kits were also provided for the workshop participants.
