OUTREACH

On August 3, from 4:00 p.m - 9:00 p.m. folks from the Nature Journaling project set up a table at the Hazel Hills Apartment complex in Fredericksburg, VA.  Taking part in this Hazel Hills Night Out event,  Crow's Nest Research Center Director Sophia Lynn, grant Project Director George Meadows and Fredericksburg City Schools Teacher Karynn Henry-Alexander introduced some important journaling skills to the Hazel Hills kids.  Mrs. Henry-Alexnder and Mrs. Lewis (Gifted Teacher and STEM Instructor/Coordinator, Fredericksburg City Schools)  provided STEM exploration for the scholars of Hazel Hill.  This was a great night for and there was inquiry all around.  The students learned about bugs and how to sketch them for inspired nature journaling.
